a buddy of mine told me about using black watercolor to create tone. it works really well I think. Also, I don't have enough money to buy more colors...

Black watercolor + digital color, big saver of time and money.
As far as uploading mp3's I've never done it myself ... I suppose you could publish to itunes and then post a link. You could also email Chris Goodwin (chris@goodwinillustration.com), he's an old pro at posting his music on livejournal ...
